newbie downloading iso images
I have tried to get: 4.8-mini.iso 4.8-disc1.iso I have also tried getting these images from this path as well: pub/FreeBSD/ISO-IMAGES-i386/4.8 Does anyone know of a mirror ftp that will allow me to see the file names? Or allow me privileges to see and download the files? Here is my typical session from DOS ftp:

Downloading the ISO image file using a dial-up line is too slow nowadays :-( Haa.. haa, still remember the day when I downloaded the Slackware 0.99 back in 1992 .. Newbie: downloading iso CD
They do not offer iso images of their CD's online. You must buy the box or get a free copy from a friend. SuSE does offer an online installation option, but this is not the same thing as downloading iso images to burn your own CD's. YaST and YaST2 are critical to running, but are not infected with GPL.

And Linux is a geeky operating system, expecting people to download and burn a linus iso image is not weird. Not many Mac or Mac OS X users want to bother with that. Support issues, users downloading ISO images they have no idea what to do with, bandwidth costs just to name a few issue that might come up.
